Join Sean and Munay for a week-long retreat and immersion into conscious embodiment, dance and ceremony at Lake Atitlán in Guatemala.

Lake Atitlán is a magical place – a naturally formed lake held by three volcanoes in the Mayan highlands of Guatemala where Agni and Soma are in harmonious balance. “Atitlan” means “the place where the rainbow gets its colors”. It is a powerful portal through which we will enjoy a deeply cleansing and revitalizing infusion of elemental essence - a soul-nourishing reset in the belly-temple.
Villa Sumaya is a sublime retreat space on lake Atitlan in Guatemala where we will share our passion for conscious living, movement, personal inspiration and discovery. Empower, reset, revive and play.
You may reserve your space on the retreat with a $500 non-refundable deposit. Send Sean or Munay an email once you have paid your deposit and let us assist you with your accommodations and questions. Based on your preferences we will send you a final balance amount which will be due by September 1st, 2021.
ACCOMMODATION
GINGER SUITES
$2,200-2,600 depending on occupancy
Ginger suites all have majestic lake views, elegant antique furnishings, and modern stylized bathrooms. They are the newest and roomiest accommodations on the property. These rooms are higher up on the property and require a bit of a climb.
Ginger suites vary in size and price and are available in single, double, and triple occupancy depending on the specific room and availability.
MAYA ROSE
$2,000-2,400 depending on occupancy
Maya Rose rooms are located in the original, renovated 65 year old stone ranch-style house. These rooms feature semi-private patios with cozy seating, and are conveniently located near the courtyard, dining room, gardens and boutique.
Maya Rose rooms are available in single and double occupancy.
SKYLINE BUNGALOWS
$2,000-2,400 depending on occupancy
Skyline Bungalows are cozy, handcrafted, freestanding private abodes featuring gorgeous lake views, outdoor seating and unique bathrooms. These rooms are perched up on the skyline of the property and require a walk up stairs.
Skyline Bungalows are available in single and double occupancy.
LOTUS HOUSE
$2,100-2,500 depending on occupancy
Lotus House is a beautiful freestanding building located in the heart of the property, adjacent to the dining hall and lounge. There are six private rooms each with its own bathroom. Lotus rooms offer plenty of flexibility in occupancy.
Lotus rooms are available in single and double occupancy.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
What's Included
Your retreat includes 7 nights accommodations, yoga, movement and dance with Sean and Munay, 3 delicious vegetarian meals per day, and special fire and cacao ceremonies. The round-trip shuttle from the airport in Guatemala to Lake Atitlán is also included.
What's not Included
Airfare to Guatemala City, and the short boat ride from Panajachel to the dock at Villa Sumaya (see travel info below), as well as any gratuities you’d like to offer to the retreat center staff (suggested $7 per day), spa services, and additional excursions and activities around the lake.
Private Sessions
We will be offering limited private sessions during the retreat. Sean will offer personal yoga, locomotion and strength sessions, and Munay will be offering cranio-sacral and tarot sessions.
TRAVEL INFO
Villa Sumaya is located on the shores of Lake Atitlán near the village of Santa Cruz la Laguna.
Please plan your flights to arrive and depart from Guatemala City. We will collect your flight details and group you together to share private shuttles for the drive from Guatemala City to Panajachel. From Panajachel, you will take a short boat ride to the Villa Sumaya Dock. We will organize the shuttle and boat ride.
Please plan to arrive in Guatemala City on Friday, November 12th. We recommend staying at Hotel Barceló, which offers a free airport shuttle. Our personal shuttle will pick you up from the hotel on the morning of the 13th.
The retreat ends with breakfast on Saturday, November 20th. The return shuttle will depart after breakfast and should arrive in Guatemala City in the early afternoon. We recommend booking a late afternoon flight out of Guatemala City, or stay overnight and leave Sunday the 21st.

FAQ
Does Villa Sumaya accommodate special diets?
Yes! Villa Sumaya accommodates most special dietary restrictions like allergies, vegan and non-gluten diets. They serve wholesome, fresh, meals that are simple and delicious. If you are concerned you can bring some alternative snacks to supplement your meals.
Is the water safe to drink?
You must drink bottled water. Villa Sumaya provides unlimited filtered water.
Will there be enough protein?
Most meals have a protein source (eggs, beans, cheese, nuts, etc.). If you are on a high protein diet, please let us know in advance. Chicken or fish may be added to meals at $7 per portion.
Should I bring my own snacks?
The meals are abundant and well balanced. If you have extreme allergies or strict dietary needs, you may want to bring some supplemental foods. Villa Sumaya offers a raw fruit and veggie juice bar with exotic smoothies, raw cacao and granola treats, chocolates, kombucha and other delights for in-between meals.
Can I bring my children?
Yes! Children are welcome at Villa Sumaya. For children 6-12 years old the fee is $45 per day. For children 3-5 years old, $25 per day. For children 2 and under the rate is $15 per day. This includes 3 vegetarian meals per day and the room shared with their parent/s. We can arrange child care for an extra fee of $5 per hour.
Is there laundry service?
Yes. Villa Sumaya offers laundry service for $3 per pound. Please allow 24 hours turn around.
Internet and Phone?
There are two computers with complimentary internet service for quick email check-ins. If you’d like to have internet service on your own device Villa Sumaya charges $3 per day or $20 for the week. Calls to the U.S. are $1.50 per minute.
Do I need to bring my yoga mat?
Yoga mats, blankets, blocks, straps, eye pillows, and some folding chairs are provided. In most cases, you are all set. But if you want to bring your owns props, that is fine.
What type of electricity do you have?
Same as the United States. No adapters necessary.
Do I need to bring soap, shampoo etc?
Villa Sumaya provides soap, shampoo and conditioner. There are towels in the rooms for bathing, and beach towels for use in the spa area are available at reception.
Is there a pool, sauna or hot tub?
Lake Atitlan has been rising the past 5 years and our pool is sometimes under water. Villa Sumaya has a beautiful dock space with lounge chairs and guests are often found sunning on the lake and swimming off our dock. Villa Sumaya has a beautiful spa area with a natural stone solar-heated hot tub and a wood-fire sauna. The hot tub is available (sun permitting) and is complimentary. The sauna must be ordered in advanced and is $30 for a 1.5 hour sweat.
